Account & Authentication

This page covers how you get access to PruTAN, sign in, and manage your account — including changing your password and deleting your account.

Getting Access (Invitation-only)

PruTAN is invitation-only — you cannot create an account yourself. A team owner invites you by your email address (any email works — a work email, Gmail, or any other provider). See Workspaces for how owners send invites.

When you have been invited:

  1. Open the Login dialog from the Login button in the top header.
  2. Enter the email address you were invited with.
  3. For your first login, use the default password Welcome@prutan.
  4. Logging in for the first time automatically creates your account.
For security, change the default password to your own as soon as you have signed in — see Changing Your Password below.

Signing In

Open the Login dialog from the Login button in the top header, enter your email address and password, then click Sign In.

You must be logged in to use features that sync to the cloud — such as Collections, Environments, Specs, Certificates, and History.

Forgot Your Password?

PruTAN does not have a self-service password reset. If you forget your password, ask your administrator to reset it. The admin reset restores your password to the default Welcome@prutan.

After the reset, sign in with the default password and then set a new one — see Changing Your Password below.

Changing Your Password

If you are already signed in and want to change your password:

  1. Open your Profile page from the user avatar menu at the top-right of the app.
  2. Click Change Password (top-right of the Profile page).
  3. In the dialog, enter your Current Password, New Password, and Confirm New Password.
  4. Click Update Password.
  • Your new password must meet the strength requirements (uppercase, lowercase, number, special character, and a minimum length).
  • If the current password is incorrect, PruTAN will not update your password.

Profile Details

On the Profile page, the Account tab shows your Profile name and Email address. These fields are read-only. (The Profile page also has a Teams tab — see Workspaces.)

Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account from the Account tab of the Profile page.

  1. Open your Profile page from the user avatar menu at the top-right of the app.
  2. On the Account tab, in the Delete account section, click Delete account.
  3. Confirm the action.
This action cannot be undone. Once you delete your account, all of your data is permanently removed. If you are the owner of one or more teams (workspaces), you must first remove yourself, transfer ownership, or delete those teams before your account can be deleted. See Workspaces for managing teams and roles.
